  7. ## WHAT IS DATACRAB?
  8.    DataCrab is a hotline bot written by Ian L. It is generally termed an "infobot." It can remember things you say and tell them later. Databases of facts can also be used with DataCrab.

  13. ## HOW DO I USE IT?
  14.    DataCrab is used via Public Chat. You can query it for information like this:

  16.       Datacrab, what is mac error 11?
  17.  
  18.    All queries end with a question mark. Starting your message with "Datacrab, " or "Datacrab " is called 'addressing datacrab.' When you address the bot, it will talk back giving you the answer to your query or if it doesn't know, "Sorry, user, I don't know."
  19.    You can shortcut querys by removing "what is" or "who are" or the like.

  23.    You can shorten it even more by not addressing DataCrab. When you don't address the bot, how ever, it won't reply with "I don't know."

  28. ## HOW DO I ADD INFORMATION?
  29.    Information is automatically picked up in chat. You can directly add information by simply telling the bot:

  31.       Datacrab, crackers are good

  33.    If a factoid already exists, in this case it would be "crackers," DataCrab will say something like "But user, crackers are already crunchy." If you want to replace a factoid you must address datacrab followed by "no, " or "no ":

  37.    After that last message Datacrab would reply like "Gotcha, user."

  40. ## HOW DO I REMOVE INFORMATION?
  41.    Sometimes it might be necessary to remove factoids. Address datacrab followed by "forget " and the subject:

  45.    DataCrab would reply like "OK, user."
